Rural Partnerships Officer

The Rural Partnerships Officer works to support development in rural areas across the Midlands where there is no active rural housing association.

The post is active in Nottinghamshire,  southern Derbyshire and Staffordshire.

Here there is a close partnership with housing providers and local authorities.

These organisations contribute to the costs of the post.

Local authorities guide where efforts should be made.

Links are made and built with local parish councils.

Housing need surveys are undertaken and site identification work carried out.

Once need is proved and a site identified the sponsoring housing provider becomes involved and takes the scheme forward.

Surveys can be carried out on a one off basis for parish councils, developers or other interested parties.
