We have 25 team members, providing services to four rural housing associations in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, the Peak District and Warwickshire.  

Our customer care team is based in Coalville, Leicestershire. Many of our other staff, including the housing and maintenance teams, work remotely and are often out visiting residents. 

Our management team

Richard Mugglestone, Managing Director 
Richard joined Midlands Rural Housing (MRH) in 2005 and became the Managing Director in 2018. 

He has extensive knowledge and experience of strategic partnerships, policy shaping and rural housing services. 

Richard oversees the delivery of rurally focused development, housing management, maintenance and customer care to MRH and its partner housing associations. 

Michael Abell, Maintenance and Contracts Manager 
Michael oversees the maintenance team.  

He is responsible for responsive repairs, planned maintenance, asset management and building health and safety compliance.

Mark Boon, Area Housing Manager  
Mark has over 25 years’ experience in rural housing management.  

He oversees a team of housing officers covering Leicestershire and Northamptonshire, and is the main contact for our shared ownership service.  

The housing team provides a full range of housing management services, including tenancy and leasehold management, lettings, income management, responding to anti-social behaviour and shared ownership sales. 

Neil Gilliver, Development Services Manager 
Neil has over 20 years’ experience in social housing, with most of this specialising in affordable rural housing development. 

Overseeing all new developments, he has a passion for delivering high-quality, innovative homes.  

Neil's experience and knowledge ensure our developments lead the way in providing greener, warmer and more energy-efficient homes. 

Jo Haigh, Communications and Engagement Manager 
Jo has worked in communications and engagement for over 20 years. She joined the team in September 2020. 

She oversees all our customer, staff and stakeholder engagement and communications, including resident involvement, website and external communications. 

Sue Haywood, Customer and Business Support Manager 
Sue has worked in customer services in the housing sector for over 30 years. 

She manages the Customer Care team and also leads our work to respond to and resolve customer complaints. 

Philippa McKenna, Project Delivery Manager
Philippa has 25 years' experience of working in the housing sector. 

She’s skilled in all aspects of housing management, development and construction. Her passion is making sure that high-quality and well-designed, affordable housing is available to those who need it most, particularly in rural areas. 

She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
