MRH leads the National Housing Debate

Midlands Rural Housing will be leading the national debate on rural affordable housing today.

Colleagues are giving presentations at the Rural Housing Conference in London where rural housing leaders, key stakeholders and politicians will be discussing the key challenges facing rural communities.

The conference is the one day of the year when professionals from across the UK get together to debate the topics which matter to housing associations who serve rural communities.

MRH Chair, David Frederickson, Managing Director, Richard Mugglestone,  Development Officer, Neil Gilliver, will be attending the conference, along with colleagues from Midlands Rural Housing.

During the workshop, ‘Meeting the carbon challenge in rural areas’, Neil will be showcasing our Passivhaus development, Keyte Gardens in Wootton Wawen, and sharing our experiences of building ultra low energy homes in a bid to tackle fuel poverty and reduce our carbon footprint.

David Frederickson, Chair of Midlands Rural Housing, will also be highlighting his work with Youlgrave’s Community Land Trust.  At the workshop, ‘Partnering with CLTs to deliver rural homes’, David will be citing Youlgrave as an example of best practice in working closely with communities to deliver homes in rural areas.

We are proud to be spearheading the debate on a national level to ensure more affordable homes can be provided in rural communities.
