New Director for rural housing specialist

Midlands Rural Housing has a new Managing Director to oversee its specialist work providing and managing rural homes for local people across the midlands.  Richard Mugglestone has been appointed to the position having been MRH’s Project Delivery Manager since joining the organisation in 2005. He succeeds Craig Felts who retired after 14 years in the role and a 40 year career dedicated to affordable housing. Craig has been a busy and vocal national champion through his work with the Rural Housing Alliance, Rural Services Network, Action for Communities in Rural England (ACRE) and a host of other lobbying groups. He leaves behind an organisation that manages over 1,600 homes on behalf of Rural Housing Association partners with a healthy amount of new homes in the pipeline which will see more than 250 affordable rural homes built in the next five years.

“Craig will be much missed in the rural housing world”, said new Managing Director Richard Mugglestone.  “His work has had a huge impact for so many people and communities and he can be very proud of that.  I am equally proud to be given the opportunity to lead the organisation into the future and I look forward to working with our experienced and dedicated team here at MRH as we continue to provide our specialist rural housing services.”

Richard has significant knowledge and experience of strategic partnerships, policy shaping and key service delivery. He will oversee MRH’s provision of its rurally focused development, housing management, maintenance and customer care services for a range of partners.  Underpinning all of this work is Richard’s drive for enabling the right homes in the right rural places; “I am passionate about Midlands Rural Housing helping to support rural communities. The homes we build and manage allow local people to remain in their villages to help support friends, families and the rural economy.”
